The National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) at the NIH has awarded a 2-year Exploratory/Development Grant for $424K to Professor Prabhas Moghe (Left)(BME) and co-PI ProfessorZhiping Pang (Below)(Child Health Institute of NJ, RBHS) for project entitled "Nanofibrous Scaffolds for Transplantation of Human Dopaminergic Neurons”.  The ultimate goals are to develop better cell therapy models to study and treat neurodegenerative diseases like Parkinsons’ Disease.

Janssen Supply Chain, part of the Janssen Pharmaceutical Companies of Johnson & Johnson (J&J), has a long-standing collaborative partnership with the Rutgers University School of Engineering when it comes to continuous manufacturing. The partnership began more than five years ago when Janssen became one of the founding members of the Rutgers Engineering Research Center for Structured Organic Particulate Systems (C-SOPS) — the world’s largest academic-based research organization dedicated to modernizing pharmaceutical manufacturing of solid oral dose medications.

2015 AIChE Annual Meeting in Salt Lake City will feature an Honorary Plenary Session on Adsorption and Ion Exchange for Alex Neimark, Distinguished Professor of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering. Professor Neimark is a renowned scholar in adsorption and porous materials characterization with a broad scope of research interests in statistical mechanics, thermodynamics and molecular modeling of interfacial phenomena and nanoscale systems.

Prof. Marianthi G. Ierapetritou, was elected as a winner of the Award of Division of Particulate Preparations and Design (PPD) in the PPD division of The Society of Powder Technology, Japan (SPTJ). This honor was elected annually in considering the outstanding research achievements of several pharmaceutical researchers by the special committee in this society. Prof. Ierapetritou's excellent works regarding to the continuous pharmaceutical process were evaluated as the most valuable to this award by all the committee members.
