IGERT in Sustainable Fuels

The Sustainable Fuels IGERT Project brings together over 40 faculty members, affiliated with 8 different graduate programs and over a dozen Rutgers centers, and whose collective research interests different encompass four main research thrusts:

  • Development and optimization of biofuels
  • Innovative catalysts and engineering systems for synfuels
  • Land use, sustainability, and environmental impact
  • Fuels deployment logistics, economics, and policy

Trainees in this IGERT program have extradisciplinary faculty mentors, follow a sustainable fuels curriculum that supplements their home graduate program curriculum, participate in programmatic workshops and an annual IGERT Energy Symposium. Fellows also have the opportunity to participate in relevant internships and international research exchanges.
