The Chemical & Biochemical Engineering Department Teamed up with Rutgers Against Hunger’s Adopt-A-Family program to assist in providing a brighter holiday season for our neighbors in need. They partnered with 13 social services agencies across local communities who have identified some of their most vulnerable clients in need of assistance. Providing food and gift donations for these families will help them end the year on a brighter note.
The family our department sponsored is a single mom with 2 children, ages 10 months and 9 years old. Mother has been working cleaning houses and also working a part time job at a warehouse to care for her family. The father, recently passed away from a suddenly heart attack. He was the main provider of the household and Mom has been struggling to make ends meet.
On December 6, the Chemical and Biochemical Engineering Department donated 6 boxes of food, clothing, gifts and 3 gift cards. Thanks to all who donated and helped make the Holiday season brighter for a needy family.
