Schuster Lab receives grant from NIH

The National Institutes of Health has awarded a five-year R35 grant to support research in the lab of Professor Benjamin Schuster. The project is entitled “Sequence determinants of membraneless organelle rheology.” Membraneless organelles are cellular structures formed from self-assembly of biopolymers, and they play important roles in health and disease. The goal of the research is to elucidate how protein sequence determines the rheology of membraneless organelles, and how the rheology ultimately imparts biological function or disfunction.
