CBE majors can participate in student organizations specific to the major. Students gain leadership and professional experience along with participation in national collegiate competitions.

American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE) Student Chapter

The American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is the world's leading organization for chemical engineering professionals, with more than 60,000 members from more than 110 countries. University student chapters participate in competition events such as ChemE Car.

Omega Chi Epsilon (OXE) the National Chemical Engineering Honor Society

The society promotes high scholarship, encourages original investigation in chemical engineering and recognizes the valuable traits of character, integrity and leadership. It serves both undergraduate and graduate students and fosters meaningful student-faculty dialogue.

The Chem-E-Car competition engages students in designing and constructing a car powered by a chemical energy source, that will safely run a specific given distance and stop.

CBE-GSO provides resources, services, and networking opportunities to graduate students within the department. The goal of the organization is to facilitate intra and inter-departmental collaboration and communication to suppport Rutgers Chemical Engineering graduate students as they become leaders in academia and industry.

Get Involved

The School of Engineering provides many opportunities for students to become involved in activities outside the classroom. More than 40 engineering-specific student organizations offer opportunities for leadership, friendship, and exploration.
