Glasser says, "This appointment comes at a pivotal time for our field. Particulate systems are fundamental to the global economy, with over 70% of all manufacturing processes — from life-saving pharmaceuticals to aerospace components — relying on the science of powders. In the U.S. alone, the industries supported by powder technology contribute hundreds of billions to the GDP and are at the forefront of the additive manufacturing revolution and advanced energy solutions.

"The science of advanced powder technology remains a critical link between raw materials and finished high-performance products. I am eager to work with the journal to advance the field of powder science and engineering. It is an honor to represent our department in this capacity and to contribute to the growth of the international powder technology community."
