Rutgers SWE and the Reilly Douglass Engineering Living Learning Commmunity (R-DELLC) funded 43 women to attend the WE23 conference (https://we23.swe.org/) that was held from October 25-28 in Los Angeles, CA. WE23 is the largest conference in the world for women in technology, attracting over 17,000 participants this year.

At the conference, students got to hear from insightful keynote speakers on innovation in industry, career planning, Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace, and more. The students participated in networking events, a collegiate luncheon to meet women from other collegiate SWE sections, and interactive panels. The conference also featured a 2-day career fair with over 300 companies.

Many of our Rutgers Engineering women secured on-site interviews and offers for internship and full-time opportunities. From student testimonials, those who attended the conference learned more about potential career paths in their major, whether that was through talking to company representatives or networking at the panels, tech talks, etc. A key learning was also how to use opportunities like WE23 to actively search for and land professional opportunities.
