Dr. Shapley receives a $5,000 Core Facility Utilization grant toward her work on MRI imaging of nonuniform particle distributions in highly filled, non-Newtonian liquids. In this work, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) will be used to capture particle concentration distributions and velocity fields of personal care products and pharmaceuticals manufactured in the form of pastes and gels that are highly filled with solid particles.
